The Wyoming Department of Family Services

The Department of Family Services promotes the safety, well-being and self-sufficiency of families through community partnerships. Local DFS offices can help qualifying families with supplemental nutrition assistance (SNAP), child support programMedicaidchild care assistance and other needed services.

Rapid Response

By partnering with different organizations in Wyoming, Rapid Response provides financial support to help stop the downward spiral of financial assistance.

Brain imaging

A tool that aids in identifying the existence, or the nonexistence, of emotional or behavioral problems in children and adults.

ABRA (Anti-Bullying Rights Advocacy)

A peer-to-peer support group for victims of school bullying. It’s an organization created by a 15-year-old Wyoming student who wants to help kids who have been bullied.

Wyoming PAL

The Partnership Access Line (PAL) is a telephone-based child mental health consultation system for primary care providers. PAL services Wyoming state. PAL is staffed by child psychiatrists affiliated with the University of Washington School of Medicine and Seattle Children’s Hospital to deliver its consultation services. In addition, PAL has a master’s-level social worker who can assist with finding mental health resources for patients with any type of insurance (state, private or no insurance).

PAL is available to primary care doctors, nurse practitioners and physician assistants throughout Wyoming.

PAL provides rapid consultation responses during business hours for any type of mental health issue that arises with any child.

Wyoming PAL is available 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mountain time by calling 1-877-501-7257.

As a youth or parent, if you have questions about the medications that are being prescribed and you would like a second opinion, the PAL hotline is a great resource.

Wyoming 2-1-1

2-1-1 is an easy to remember telephone number that connects callers to information about critical health and human services available in communities around Wyoming. This is a free service.

United Way

United Way is a non-profit that units people, shares resources and improves lives around the state of Wyoming. There are six local Unity Way offices in Wyoming.

Bikers Against Child Abuse (B.A.C.A.)

Bikers Against Child Abuse exists with the purpose to create a safer environment for children who have been abused. B.A.C.A. has six Wyoming chapters: Campbell county, Douglas, La Barge, Laramie county, Lovell and Natrona county.

UW Echo for Families: Autism

This virtual community was built by and for families of children with autism. Participants will learn about autism, interventions that can be used in home and school, and how systems of care work in Wyoming.

The mission of American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry is to promote the healthy development of children, adolescents and families through advocacy, education and research, and to meet the professional needs of child and adolescent psychiatrists throughout their careers.

Children’s Special Health Program

Children’s Special Health program within the Maternal and Child Health Unit at the Wyoming Department of Health that offers care coordination services and/or limited gap-filling financial assistance to support eligible clients and their families.

Free Dental Clinic

The Colorado Mission of Mercy is a large-scale dental clinic that is held annually in a Colorado community. The concept is simple: Create a two-day dental clinic in a large facility and open the clinic doors to the community. Dental services are provided to any person on a “no questions asked” basis. Patients are evaluated and treated based on their most urgent dental needs. Patients undergo dental treatments such as cleanings, fillings, root canals, and extractions. The best part is that this quality treatment is provided at no cost to patients. This is available to Wyoming residents.
